Do CPU design teams get bonuses if they finish early?

So, lets say you're designing a new CPU, and it tapes out early.

Do you get a bonus, or some other reward? Or is satisfaction in a job well done, reward enough?

What happens if you're late?

Do you get fired, fined? Or is the knowledge that you're doing a good job, all that is needed to maintain morale?

You start working on the next one, I would guess, it is certainly something to bring up in a performance review.

Some companies certainly budget bonuses for jobs getting done early no matter what industry you are in from hardware to software to construction. I know my company has done this in the past...but their time schedules were so impossibly short that no one ever got the bonuses...so they just did away with it.

I tape comps together sometimes. And I got a bonus this year.

Close enough?

The Intel Bonnell team got a cruise (or a small bonus, if they didn't want to go on the cruise).

Well, I help make RAM at my company.
And I have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
Having said that: We do get plenty of bonuses each year. Usually they are related to a production goal.

Yes, you get $14 for each hour ahead of schedule you finish.

Plus a bucket of used motor oil if you finish more than 1 month ahead of schedule.
