Yay for the right answer! Imagine if you had to be withing 100 feet or so of a cell phone tower...
I heard it was similar frequencies (as with gsm/ digital) but lower power
but that doesn't mean no effects, the cancer causing and brain damaging effects might simply be somewhat weaker than with mobiles

Funny, cellphones work at anywhere from 800mhz to 1900mhz, while cordless phones work from 900mhz to 5800mhz these days. Frequency doesn't matter much, and cellphones only put out about 500mw or so of power, cordless are a little less but not an awful lot less. They just don't transmit as far because they're designed not to, if they worked for miles then your phone would interfere with everybody's phones, so they try to limit them to about a 150ft. radius or so.
BTW people have cell towers in their barns and church steeples these days, you don't even know they're there, they don't do any damage medically, and you don't have to worry about them. They're very directional, even if you were standing in front of them it wouldn't be an issue.

Cell phones DO damage. It's just so little, bu tover time it accumulates to do a lot of damage. Cells emit the most radiation when the call just goes through, and that's why carrying a cell when it goes off is the worst possible time for radiation to get you.

There is no valid evidence linking cell phone use to cancer or brain tumors. NONE.
A Danish study (conducted by Johansen et al.) linked data on all of the 420,095 cell phone users in Denmark between 1982 and 1995, to the Danish Cancer Registry and found the same results as the three case-control studies. The results are the following:
**The brain cancer patients didn't report more cell phone use than the subjects who were free of brain cancer. In fact, for reasons that remain unclear, most of the studies showed a tendency toward lower risk of brain cancer among cellular phone users.
**When different types of brain cancer were considered, none were consistently associated with cell phone use.
**When specific locations of tumors within the brain were considered, no associations with cell phone use were found.
**None of the studies showed a clear link between the side of the head on which the brain cancer occurred and the side on which the cellular phone was used.

Come on.......haven't you guys seen how retarded people drive while trying to use their cel phones? Doesn't that just prove it's causing brain damage?? Well??? DOESN'T IT???? :shocked:
Of course, it could prove that most people are retarded drivers to begin with, barely capable of controlling their motor vehicle, and adding the extra complexity of using their cel phone just multiplies thier ineptitude exponentially!! :laugh:
