Do consoles have any 3rd-party DRM?

Yes. Most EA games (Titanfall being the only immediate exception I can recall) require an Origin account. The Ubisoft stuff requires UPlay, though it's about to be retired for something else.

The difference is that on console, you basically set the accounts up and that's it. You don't have to do purchases through a special store or sign in and make sure you have an application running. It just links to your Xbox LIVE profile and runs normally.
