Do Child Molestors really have it the worst in prison?

You always here about how child molestors and child murderers have it the worst in prison. My questions are:

1. Is this really true?
2. How do the inmates get away with raping/assulting this guy? Don't the guards see it and/or stop it?
3. Do the guards allow it to happen and sort of turn the other way?
4. Why do the inmates do this to the molestor? Is it there demented way of trying to pay back to society for their own crimes so they take it out on someone "worse" than them or are they just pissed at these molestors b/c like the rest of us, the inmates really do care about children and get furious when children are hurt?

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Yes

Not expected of a person to go after a defenseless child.
IF one does so, then they will have a payment in kind expected.

Criminals many times derive respect from the severity of their crims, but also from the creativity, ludicrousness, and style applied.

Molestation is not a "challenge" and therefore deserves no respect. They probably see people as such as weak assholes for what they have done to someone so innocent, literally and figuratively.

I bet some of the criminals in jail had experiences with child molestars as kids. Not that that automatically leads to a criminal life, but abusive childhoods can often lead people down very bad paths. So, they get to jail and find someone who is a representation of the abuse they received as a child and the quasi-free reign to get their revenge.

When you are in prisons with these kinds of criminals, atleast when my grandfather was in prison several years ago. A lot of this kind of stuff went on. I think they try to cut back on it as much as possible, but it still happens.

They try not to put child molesters/murderers in the general population. However, a threat to put them in the general population is usually a very effective way to get info from them.

A guy my mom used to work with went to prison recently for molesting his own daughter and one of her friends. He is by no means a tough guy, and from what little I've heard he's having an extra not-fun time in prison.
