what are you looking for, a DVD+R/W or DVD-R/W? Either way, most of the common ones out there now burn the dvd format they support and cd-r/w. Just at a signifcantly slower speed than top of the line today.

that $350 sony does BOTH dvd formats and is coupled w/ 24x cdr, most versatile one out there now I would say.
