Do casino's give you player credit at table games for the amount of money you lose or amount of time you are there?

I go to craps table. Give them my super-duper special casino player's card where I get points for free rooms and stuff for playing. 2 hours later I walk away from the table.

Do I get points based on those 2 hours I played, i.e. how long I was at the table? Or instead do they award me points based on how much I lost to them over those two hours, at least in part? I would hope its the former, because I typically come out ahead, but I have a sneaking suspicion its actually the latter...

I think that you get points for every dollar that you wagered. It doesn't really matter if you win or lose when it comes to rewards points... they just want you to keep gambling. The odds continue to favor the house the longer you play.

Slot machines track amount wagered without regard to wins and losses.

Table games don't do this because they can't automatically track every wager like a slot can track every pull. Instead I believe the supervisor tracks initial buy in and time spent, plus possibly any additional buy ins if they're a significant amount.

Just one question.... do you have time to bathe before hitting the tables?

I'm pretty sure this is correct, which is why I always buy in with way more than I intend to gamble.
