Do cases w/ USB 3.1 exist yet?

Curious if there were any cases on the market that had front panel USB 3.1 yet? Haven't been able to find any in my searches. Thanks

what kind of type-C are you looking for?

just data transfer, or charging? type-C has different power delivery profiles (PD Profiles), you need to look into this as well (max is 100W @ 20V/5A i think...)

nexus 6p would need 15W @ 5V/3A, macbook would want 29W (14.5V/2A), which is a strange combo

For eventual devices that will use it. Not smartphones, external drives etc.

Just to add to confusion, there is not just one USB3.1, there's USB3.1 v.1 (aka USB3.0) and USB3.1 v.2. Both can come with Type C ports.

Why they decided to "upgrade" the name from USB3.0 to USB3.1 v.1 ...?

I did a quick search for USB-C cases a few weeks ago and settled on the Cooler Master MasterCase Maker 5. It works fine for data transfer but it does not carry enough juice to charge my Nexus 6P quickly... more like a trickle charge at best.

Note, that although this is a USB-C plug, it "only" transfers at USB 3.0 speeds, NOT 3.1. Don't confuse USB-C (which is a plug format) with USB 3.1, which is a technology that can exist in a number of different plug formats.

My In Win 805 has a USB C port that supposedly supports USB 3.1. Not sure if it supports 10GT/s speeds though.

In a few more months there will be tons of new cases on the market. Right now you're still seeing the early ones trickling out. I've been paying attention, too. Waiting for Lian-Li to refresh their lineup.

I think that my ASRock DeskMini STX mini-PC chassis has a USB 3.x "Type-C" connector. I have no idea about the data-transfer or charging specs of it.
