Someone told me they came up with some kinda compressor cutoff in 1998 or something, I'm not sure.

No. The power put out by the alternator is absolutely critical to keeping an engine running properly especially at WOT. Also, the alternator spins much more freely than the A/C compressor.Originally posted by: pio!pio!
