yeah I tried that, but bread gets kind of...stiff. I tried storing some rolls in the fridge the other day, and while they weren't as hard as a rock they were a lot stiffer. Not as much fun to eat :(

no bread boxes don't do much in my experience. If you want to keep bread long fereeze it, then stick it in the oven for 10 or 15 minutes @ around 300 when you need it

yeah dude, I have a Pepperige Farms near my house, they make awesome sandwhich bread.

I also get Great Harvest bread once in awhile, although its a bit more of a drive. Anyone else had bread from there?

Bread boxes don't do anything to keep bread fresher longer. It's just a place to store bread.

Yep, we've got Great Harvest here in Oregon too. Good stuff. Especially when it's fresh and warm.

I have a tuperware style breadbox that seals and all... it seems to keep bread freash outside a fridge for over a week. I've never NOT used it, so I don't know if that's good or not. With a family of four the bread doesn't last much longer than that anyway. If I buy too much bread, it also helps it from getting stiff when I DO put it in the fridge. Aside from being chilled, it tastes soft as ever.
