Do BMWs still use bolts to secure the wheels on?

Just wondering if BMWs still used bolts to secure the wheels to the car instead of the common studs and lug nuts?. I always thought it was silly to go with this design when I saw my friend always struggling to get his wheels lined up to the holes, holding it there and tightening the bolt down.

Everyone knows BMWs are known for their great handling but does using bolts instead of studs help contribute to that?

Both of our MINIs were this way. But the wheel could be placed on a lip that stuck out of the hub, so you put it on that and then align the holes and insert the bolt.

Your friend must be a moron if something that simple gives him problems. I like that particular set-up. Stick the wheel on the hub, rotate till the holes line up. Don't have to fight the studs. Neither one is particularly difficult, but I prefer the bolts.

Bolts. Imagine if one of your studs got bent or damaged, wouldn't that be fun?

EDIT: If he's really having problems, have him spray some anti-seize crap on so he can turn the wheel without making the rotor move with it.
EDIT2: Even the new M6 uses wheel bolts, aswell as their Mini's. I don't see that changing any time soon.
