do birds pecking on the roof ever wake you up?

God it drives me crazy some mornings. My room has a sloping ceiling, so there's no attic space above - just a few inches to the surface of the roof. So when birds come and try to peck seeds out of the roof, it makes this loud repetitave knocking like somebody banging on the door. Erg I need my sleep!

put a fake owl and some fake snakes on your roof. The birds will not come back.

That doesn't work. I put an owl on my roof to keep pigeons away. Pigeons don't know what the fvck an owl is though so it didn't do any good.

I finally had to have an exterminator come out and remove their nests from my eves and install a mesh net to keep them out. It was funny actually, he said because of the time of year that he might find young pigeons in the nest and asked me what I wanted him to do if he did. I asked him, "What do you normally do in that situation?" He said I usually kill them. I said, "I have no problem with that." Fvcking sky rats.

I've had woodpeckers hammer on the metal chimney for the furnace - makes a helluva racket. I have no idea what their after, I'm pretty sure there are no bugs in there!

why would there be seeds on my roof? 😕

They aren't necesarily trying to get seeds - some birds, like woodpeckers, do it as a means of communication.

Last spring and summer we had a woodpecker around here that decided to use the metal exhaust shaft from our furnace as his "telegraph pole". 7:30 every morning. D@mn that thing was loud! 😛
