I was reading Yet Another Great Big Long Benchmarking Article on this-or-another website and it got me thinking...
Do these sites pay royalties for the right to use the game as a benchmark?
most poeple will say "Heck, no! they already paid (hopefully...) to buy the game. that should be enough."
But if you think about it, these sites make money off the games they benchmark. whether through subscriptions or advertising space, and there must be something in the EULA which states that no one can make any profit from the company's intellectual property.
it'd be nice if someone from the AT staff could comment.
