Do Battlefield 2 maps load rediculously slow for you too?

The only firewall I run is the one on my router, and a lot of times I DMZ my main computer.

I don't have an antivirus program, and I don't have a spyware program.

Guess what? I don't have any problems. As long as you're careful and know what you're doing you're not going to get any viruses and there's only a small chance of getting spyware.

Mine load in less than a minute, but that's after adding a gb (1.5gb total) of memory...before it would take on the upwards of 1 1/2 - 2 minutes

I have the same problem. Map loading takes anywhere from 30-45 seconds, and the verification with the server can take up what seems like atleast 2 minutes. This is on an A64 3200+, 1GB PC3200, BFG 6800GT, 6Mb/768Kb cable internet connection. I run absolutely nothing in the background that I can get away with, so it's nothing to do with background apps.

I've just chalked it up to piss-poor coding, and I hope it'll be fixed sometime soon in a patch. Until then, I'll try some fixes if anyone has any, otherwise I'm waiting on EA's lazy ass.

I have basically the same system, and the same problem. Its annoying as hell.
