Do banks do money orders?

I need a money order or cashier's check to pay my first month's rent. Can I go to a bank to do this? Does anyone know if they charge some fee? Thanks.

yea u can buy money orders at your bank.. usually they dont charge a fee.. but if ur not a customer, they will

washington mutual charges me like $6 to do a MO, so i go to the post office for $.90

wamu charged me six bucks. 🙁

I couldn't get a money order - the amount was over 700 dollars. and it was definitely over 1000 also.

Most credit unions offer money orders for free if you're a customer.

If a bank tried to charge me for a cashier's check when I had an account there, I'd drag the cashier out by his/her/it's nostrils.

I spent 20 min arguing with a fiberglass clown's head when they tried to charge me for a free value meal addition.
