why? they look so much easier...

they sure do look easier. Its just a pain to have to deal with screwing the ends on, then unscrewing them when your wire falls out just to have to screw them back in. Twist your ends and plug your wire in.

You're probably better off soldering them in, if possible, rather than screwing the wires in.

you have to screw the wires in...thats what holds them inside the pin
I'm pretty sure you can get solderable banana plugs.
