They work great if you happen to be female and need to massage a different part of your anatomy.

I know they work for that... but I'm wondering if they actually work as massagers for your back.

Never thought of actually trying it on the back. Why don't you get one - it's not too expensive - and let us know how it works?

haha, i was going to ask if anyone had ever tried to use it on their back as i'm sure they're used more often for other areas.

My wife has a Hitachi Magic wand. She likes it as an actual massager for her back. I never cared for it. It tickles more than actually massages.

As for off label use...it's a pretty heavy piece of artillary.

I have one spot on my left shoulder that gets tensed up and causes me an awful lot of pain. A 3 minute massage in the right spot makes me feel so much better, but I can't reach it myself.

Do these back massage wands work? Like this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Wahl-4196-1001...pr_product_top

I like/require strong, deep massage. Given that, none of these electronic massagers are worth a damn for my needs. But people vary greatly in what level of depth of massage works for them.

I'm such a bitch when it comes to massages. I have to stick to the hot stones because I can't take much pressure on my back at all. Sensitive spinal cord or nerves or something? Who knows.

Wouldn't a handjob accomplish the same thing?

If you knew where to find your pressure points, this looks like it would work well.

Now you're getting really kinky!
And it looks like it's already wearing its own strap-on.

That's shiatsu. I've studied it, as well as massage.

Forgot to add, though, that one of the reasons that plastic fantastic thingamabob wouldn't work as well is that shiatsu also relies on the modulated touch of a practitioner's thumb (and fingers), which relies on direct tactile feedback.

Just sayin'.

Do some mystic asian foot massage. Supposedly works on all areas of the body.

Nothing particularly "mystic" about it. We westerners call it reflexology. Most all your nerves to all parts of your body terminate in your hands and feet.
