Do away with cash

I'm tired of dealing with cash. I HATE places that dont accept CC. ALL drink/snack machines should take credit cards. Cash has to be reprinted and remade ALL the time. Numbers in a bank account only cost as much as the space on the HDD they hold. I think they should do away with cash completely...i know a TON of old farts would be pissed bcuz they pay for EVERYTHING with cash...but they will get over it.OF course, more credit card security would be needed, but at least you would never have to worry about pcoket change and the inconvenience again.

your thoughts...

We should all just get a mark on our hands or foreheads and let the machine scan that to make the transaction, screw carrying around "cards".

NO. Cash == you can legally be off the grid so to speak. It's an important bit of privacy that we have. Cash == good for freedom.

I'll agree when you give acceptable solutions to these problems:

1) Who pays so that everyone in the world has a CC transaction machine? I mean if a 2 year old wants to see a piece of gum to a 3 year old for 1 penny, that'll require the 3 year old to have a credit card and the 2 year old to have a CC reader/telephone line/checking account to deposit it.

2) Who pays for all the transaction fees? A 50 cent transaction fee on a 1 penny piece of gum from a gumball machine is a bit steep.

3) How do we get everyone in the world a CC? What about the kids who legally cannot have one. What about the losers who cannot handle a CC properly?

no, its a stupid idea.

how the hell could you borrow money from someone, or let them borrow money from you? you couldn't do it then. on top of that, i don't want to have to sign for stuff every time i buy stuff.

also, what if you want to have a yardsale or sell something to someone, they can't just give you cash and be done with it. it would cause WAY more problems than it would solve.

YA buy a 65 cent coke on a vending machine...Pay by CC.....30-60 cents per transaction goes to CC company....Coke decides its not profitable...raises price to $1.80/can...so much for your idea...

EDIT: dullard beat me to it

what happens when the power grid gets taken down and the entire economy collapses? You be wishing for cash then!

1) kids sell smack, not gum.. 😵....it wouldnt be that hard if ppl had a banking account...just transfer the money...not everything has to be CC...just no CASH
2) transaction fees would dwindle to nearly nothing bcuz trhere would be so many transactions, the CC company wouldnt need as much $ /transaction
3) It doesnt have to be a CC...can be DC...kids can get savings accounts that allow you to transfer money. for loosers. get a debit card...

papertrails dont scare me bcuz i have nothing to hide...i am not opposed to getting a chip inserted...makes it harder to steal ident.
