Do asian people have generic english accents?

I'm not talking about immigrants here. I'm referring to first born generation. Text As I posted in that thread that Asian people do have a generic english accent.

Anybody agree?

nope. we have accent too. slightly less accenty than others but there's always a hint of an accent such that i can always spot an asian from there voice. almost never fails. also i've noticed men have it more than women and it tends to grow stronger over time.

even among my asian friends who were borin in America had accent while some other didn't

i think the "parents" is the bigger influence

I know asians who were born in AMerica, so they have no accent.

However, I was also born here, but still, my English as a heavy asian acent.

My Korean has a English accent. It kind of pisses me off.

Perhaps they just speak English more correctly so you think they sound classier and are associating that with an English accent.

i have no accent either, but to other people with accents i have an accent.

There was an asian guy that I used to see at the MarketPro computer shows at the Dulles Expo Center that had a very pronounced southern drawl. He had a table there selling all sorts of accessory stuff like tool bags, laptop bags, LED flashlights etc. He would wear one of those shirt mics to deliver his sales talk to folks walking by so he was pretty noticeable.
