Probably not, because I think it keeps the ave Asian that you might encounter on the street a lot safer.

Personally, I know that I won't give any shit to random Asian person because I naturally assume that each one will karate me to death if I do.

You obviously have not watched a lot of recent films from Asia. There's actually been quite a dearth of martial arts films in recent years, at least for ones that have I've been able to get over here.

What % of Asian films revolve around martial arts tho?

If youre judging by the films thatve found mainstream success in the states, I doubt you're getting a representative sample.

yeah, i guess i'm baseing it on what i see here

btw, I just picked up this 3D kung fu flick, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate. Can't wait to watch it

I just rewatched a classic Korean flick the other day called Chingoo (Friend). It's about 4 kids who grow up and they end up in different paths in life. Two end up on opposing gangs. It was the #1 grossing movie for a while. If you look at the wiki for the movie they list the movies that came after, which ended up making more cash. I think they're all non-martial arts movies.

Silmido, Taegukgi, The King and the Clown, Speedy Scandal and The Host

Silmido is about secret band of soldiers. Taeguki is a korean war movie. King of Clown I have no idea. Speedy Scandal is like the korean Big daddy. The host is a monster flick. There's spaghetti western called the good the bad and the weird that's pretty awesome also.

I haven't actually watched too many asian films recently but if you liked the Departed, there's the chinese movie it was based on Infernal affairs. There's like 3 movies.
