I have a cheapo Cyberhome DVD player and I can't find a code for it to work with my Radio Shack 5-in-One Remote Control.

The search-for-code functionon the Radio Shack remote doesn't seem to find the Cyberhome so I was wondering if it is even possible for any remote to learn the power on/off function of another remote control...so far I'm not having luck.

last I knew the RS 5 in 1 would auto search for the code... I know the "All in one" brand remotes do.

there are lots of remotes from about $40 on up that can learn the functions of other remotes. you point them at each other and they have remote sex and transfer their precious bodily juices. but seriously, there are lots of remotes that do this, just go to fry's or whereever and take a looksee at what they've got. i'm considering getting one myself.

I haven't found any that 'learn' the Power function of another remote. It seems that the learning remote that you are using has to have either a code for the other remote or has to be able to find the code for the other remote.

I'll ask the guys at Radio Shaq tonight.........

I like learning remotes - a lot.

I was able to "learn" the signal from the traffic signal controller and now carry it with me. Turning on my VCR makes a red green! :)

Cheers!

Cyberhome DVD is suck:

http://www.cyberhome.com/tech_issues.asp?ID=17

which says:

Are there Universal Remote Control Codes for CyberHome DVD Players?

Issue Number: 17 Last Updated: 11/20/02

Sorry, CyberHome DVD Players are not designed for Universal Remote Controllers. There are no codes added to any available Universal Remotes that are compatible with CyberHome DVD Players. Consequently, CyberHome DVD Players cannot be operated by Universal Remote Controls.
