The concept befuddles me... I guess that's the only way people can avoid being late/early ?

I used to set my alarm clock about 5 minutes fast, but I don't do it anymore.

when I do it to my bedroom alarm clock, when I wake up, I'll be too groggy to know otherwise (at least for the first few days)... now if I could just get it to wake me up at a random time, and display a random time, both wildly innacurate, where I could have 30 mintues to get out the door or 90, that would really help me get going in the morning :)

nope, I like all of my clocks to be exact

I'm very picky about time and always keep my eye on the time

I just have my daily watch run like 2 mins faster.. 2 mins is pretty precious when you're late :p

I used to do my clock 15 minutes earlier. It sometimes fooled me when I first woke up in the morning... "15 minutes before you have to be there is on time; on time is late"--some chief in the Navy told me that...

yes i set mine fast by about 7 minutes. the reason is that when i FIRST wake up, i am very out of it. like for 10 seconds or so I really don't know whats going on, and i see the clock and am not aware that its fast. after that 10 seconds or so when I am back to reality, i realize its fast and am up 7 minutes earlier and not in a hurry.

its all a mind trick that works because when i first wak eup, im like half awake half asleep and by the time i realize the clock is fast, i'm fully awake w/some time to spare.

I set my wall clock in my office about 8 minutes fast, and it helps me leave the office earlier. I know it's not "really" 4:30, but I just leave anyway and I can cite "my clock" if need be.

I keep my taskbar clock on internet updated time. All other clocks are 5 minutes ahead and I manipulate accordingly.

I run all the clocks in the house, in the cars, on my wife's wrist 15 minutes ahead of time ... she doesn't quite realize how bad it is, because I do it when she isn't around. This keeps us more or less on time :)

perfect strategy...
It may not fool you when you set them ahead a few minutes, but it may definitely force the significant other to be, umm, on time finally. :)

Wrist watch = exact

Alarm clock #1 = exact
Alarm clock #2 = not exact, so when I snooze I have #1 as backup.

I used to keep my wrist watch 5 min ahead, just so I can be early places, but I realized I always factored the time in.

yeah, but every time i look at the time, i always convert the time back to the correct time, so i figured that its pretty useless.

It always perplexes me why people set their clocks 10 minutes fast... If you know its 10 minutes fast, then you unconsciously subtract 10 minutes to get the real time!

That said, I set my bedside clock 10 minutes fast because when I first wake up I'm too stupid to remember that it's set fast :)

I use to set the time 5 minutes fast on my alarm clock at my bed. When I first wake up I'm not coherent enough to remember i purposely did that so it helped. But now a days i dont need that sense of urgency.
