So I was up late in the middle of the night w/ a sick toddler and was being sucked in by Lindsay's info-mercial. Yes Lindsay, our bed does suck, I do wake up un-rested and sore. Yes, I think I would like a 30 day trial.

But I'd like to hear from some "real" sleep number bed owners if there are any out there. Do you like it? How long have you had it? If you've had it for a number of years does it sag or has it lost any of its firmness? What's the poop on them?

Thanks,
j

I don't own one, but several years ago (ok more than that) I was staying at a hotel that had the sleep number beds. As far as I can remember, it was rather nice, especially if your s/o likes a firmer or softer matress than you do. However, I do like the memory foam matresses better.

I'd like to try one, but I have a hard time believing that it's worth the premium over a regular mattress.

We have one and have had it for years. We love it. Great that you can have it at whatever firmness you want and that each side of the bed is independent. And since you can always put more air in, the bed would never really wear out like a normal mattress would so it should last for many many years.

Works great.

Don't have one but I am in awe of their marketing prowess. The commercials show the "sleep numbers" at different times from 10 to 95 (or close to that). You are led to believe that the bed has 100 different settings. But they don't call your attention to the fact the numbers go in increments of 5, so there's only about 20 different settings.

I admire the genius who said, "Don't make the controls go from 0 to 20. Make it 0 to 95 and have it jump in increments of 5 so it looks like there are many more adjustment options."
