I really do! I used to live in Panama - where it was summer year round. well, now I live in Northern Florida, and Fall is just starting. The leaves are falling off trees, it's getting cool outside, Panama City is like a Ghost town (we loose all our tourists!) and the days are getting shorter! It bothers me to see everything die. In the summer, I love long days, and all the greenery, and warmth. It's really depressing to see it all just go away... :(

Hmm, this sounds like a crazy post ;)

I don't mind Fall. Winter is all right, EXCEPT for the morons that seem to lose their shampooing mind and use NO common sense when it comes to driving in the snow! :|

Many people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder aka SAD. SAD is caused from lack of sunlight coming into contact with your eyes. In some people this causes a physiological imbalance that turns into depression.

Fall/Winter is awesome - don't have to worry about sweating all the time and you have more clothing choices. (Among other reasons)

maybe i'm weird but i like all the seasons equally, i take joy in miserable weather (there's something nice about walking in the dark, cold and soaking wet)... honest, no sarcasm intended.

I'm not complaining, I actually love the winters here (I LOVE winter driving), but I'm just making the point that upstate flordia winters are nothing.

I live in central Florida, I miss seeing all those "lobstered" tourists. It also means hurricane season is in full swing. some cool thunderstorms too-I think my comp gets a little nervous tho!;)

*rofl* Actually I hate summer and dislike spring. I dislike cities, tourists, crowds, sunlight, daytime, humidity...basically everything everyone loves, I detest.

I LOVE winter and like fall...I LOVE temperatures between 40 and 65 fahrenheit...I LOVE empty cities and beaches...I LOVE rain and storms...I LOVE NIGHT!!!...I LOVE fog, and chill, and dew...I LOVE darkness...

don't know what to tell you, other than that's why I live in Washington.

I can relate, I live in SW Florida (two seasons, hot and really hot) and work has sent me up to Maryland for 6 months... I woke up the other day and it was 50 something degrees out. If my apartment wasn't on the 1st floor, I'd jump...

You should try living in Temora, Australia mate.
40C all year round and lots of dust.

I love fall because the weather is just perfect and the beauty of the changing leaves.
I love winter because it is cold and a lot of snow.
Snow is just magical. Sitting on the porch and looking at all the thick snow at trees.
It just calm you down.

Go to Madison to experience that :)

I've lived in the North and I've lived in the south.... and I'll take the hot humid summers any day in order to have the mild fall and winter... But dude... Northern Florida in about as mild of a fall/winter as you can have in the U.S. I'm several states above you and find fall/winter very mild here (with the occational exception).

Good post. Good link too, which I looked at a bit.

I'm aware of SAD in myself a little, but I have ways of dealing with it, though nothing organized. I think Xmas, sometimes, is part of society's way of putting happiness and gaity on what could be a depressing time of year. We're approaching the "holiday season", right? Of course, we all know that many many people get depressed then, but I (and lots of folks) know it doesn't have to be like that.
