Do any of you guys have a "kitchen computer"...

I was slightly bored and wanted to take a quick five minute break at the pc labs since i got class in 30 minutes so i right click on "my computer" and started slipping through the tabs for no apparant reason...and then i noticed in the "computer name" section microsoft says to give it a name. "kitchen pc" is listed as an option 😉

I just found it odd and slightly amusing that you need a pc in the kitchen for whatever reason 😉

so it made me wonder...do any of you guys have a "kitchen pc" or have a pc that is located in a position that you might consider unusual? The only thing I could think of is that I know a few people who have an old 700Mhz dell setup in their living room with a TVout dedicated soley to playing divxs and stuff...but that could be simply considered a primitive HTPC...

If i spent enough time in the kitchen, i could see some use for it. Watch TV, have recipes listed, play music, receive IMs... hell, even porn.

I have a kitchen pc ... lcd screen ... high speed internet ... world's largest cookbook at my fingertips.

had one back in 1995 or so. it wasn't of much use. my mother wanted to store her recipes on it.

back in 2000 or so when the iopener was popular my roommate and i planned on putting one of those in the kitchen, never were able to find one though.

haven't had that thought since, though. i have seen the fridge with the computer/tv built into the door.

Does dining table count? It's a formal 2000 dollar dining table. It is home to a 350MHz K6-2 w/ 128MB mem and a 8GB Quantum Bigfoot

My parents computer is in the kitchen. My mom uses it to listen to internet radio and browse while she is cooking stuff.

my wife does the bills in the kitchen, her recipes are used primarily in the kitchen. the kitchen / breakfast nook is a good common area for kids to have access to the internet.

i see nothing weird or strange about having a PC in the kitchen.
