I'm just curious, how was the actual piercing compared to that of either ear lobe or ear cartilage? And what about healing pain/discomfort, was it that bad or noticeable?

I'm still debating getting this done, so any thoughts, stories, or advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Just... don't. From what I understand it hurts like a biatch, and after that its just another painful accident waiting to happen.
 
Why get something that is covered up most of the time?
My brother got his done and it got caught on his shirt sometimes. Sounds painful.
 
You do not have the right to have your nipples pierced until you have at least 60% of your body covered in tattoos and already have your ears, tongue, eyebrows, nose and chin pierced, when it is obligatory. Anytime before then you are simply a poser waiting to get them ripped off in a fight for someone else's amusement. 😀
 
I have had 6 total piercings in my life and cartilage hurt like a bitch. I have one friend who got his nipple done and he said it hurt like hell. I would imagine nipple is worse than cartilage.

That being said I do not like nipple piercings and if you must get one please at least make sure you are jacked since you will be drawing attention to you chest.

I see too many guys with scrawny/fatty chests and the piercing just looks like garbage.

the most common reason for nipple piercings is not for show. when your nipples are pierced they typically grow a small amount and become more sensitive, like most 'sexual' piercings.

 
I have both my nipples pierced, in addition to my ears, cartiledge, and lip.

Do not listen to ANYONE, ANYONE who tells you it didn't hurt. They are lying. My ears (lobes) didn't hurt at all. My cartilege stung, and was uncomfortable to sleep on for maybe a week. My lip pinched a little and took a little while to heal(constant agitation - eating etc ), but my nipples were serious pain. Enough pain that if I were to take them out, i probably would not get them done again, to avoid the pain. They were sore for probably 2 weeks and even still occasionally drain a bit(the fact that i work in a freezer does not help matters either), I got them done LAST February. People are known to have gotten piercings that do not heal for up to a year and a half.

it hurts like a bitch...don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'm glad i got mine, I like them, but good lord did it hurt. 🙁
 
Don't do it. I knew a guy who do it several years ago and it turned out to be one of his biggest regrets ever. He said the piercing hurt more than anything he's ever experienced. And then he was in constant pain for like 2-3 weeks afterwards. He had to keep Bandaids over them because the slightest brushing of a shirt would hurt like hell. And they never showed any signs of healing. He eventually took them out after about one month and was still miserable for another week or so beyond that.
 
the whole idea is rather twisted and I would never do it. I have enough holes in my body as it is after Nam.
 
Keep in mind that this is ATOT and there are alot of close minded nerds. That being said, I would never do that, but I love my tattoos. 😀

I'm by no means "ripped", but girls sure do like them (as murphy said) in any case 😛
There are also advantages in heightened sensation when performing certain "activities"...

My fiance loves mine. 🙂 Way to stereotype tho. Had no problem bringing her "home to mom".
 
I had mine done - the first piercing wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - the second piercing, however, exceeded my expectations. Mine were pierced with discreet bars; I had them in for about 6 months, until I partially ripped one, which then got infected.

I took them out after that - it just wasn't worth it at that point.

So my girlfriend isn't mature or the type I'd want to bring home to mom?

I'm not saying you think that, but I don't necessarily agree with what you said (not just in my case, but in general).
