Do any 3000-6000 lumen led light bulbs exsist.

A light bulb that is made up of a bunch of LED lights, that is between 3000 and 6000 lumens. I am looking for some to light up my house. Want some that are closer to 3000, and others that are near 6000. If not I will just get some CFL that are.

amazon has them though

You can get CFL that are that bright for 20 bucks or less Do LED really cost much more?

The reason I want LED is because I hear they use way less power than CFL.

That's because they're nowhere near as bright.

In terms of efficiency (light output per Watt of electricity), the latest prototype LED bulbs are getting close CFLs, but they're not yet a match, and definitely no better. When compared to high quality fluroescent strip lights - they are very much worse.

The LED bulbs you can buy right now are a lot less efficient than CFLs. But they partially make up for this by having a more focused light output. The other problem is that white LEDs haven't really been designed for good color. The color rendering of current white LEDs is poor, even compared to relatively cheap CFLs - and the color temperature is very high (they produce a very blue light, which isn't really suited for a home environment). (Although this is something that the next generation of white LEDs is supposed to remedy).

i think nichia announcned they finally have one that is brighter per watt than a cf. doubt it'll be cheap. most home lights are a bunch of cheapies strung together so forget it, never mind the horrible color. luxeons already vary big time on color..luxeon lottery. its just not worth it for the cost at the moment. candlepowerforums has more on leds and such.

when i was buying mag 3aa's i got one that was purple/one blue/one yellow/one green..you get the picture. i settled for bluish white but if it were for home lighting i woulda been pissed.

For me, the main allure of LED light bulbs is that they don't need a warmup time, and their long life expectancy - unless manufacturers overdrive their bulbs to make them "competitive" with incandescents in terms of both brightness and life expectancy.

yea but the warmup times aren't so bad now. my ikea /ge ones are almost instant on, big difference from when i paid like 10 bucks for a panasonic bulb that literally took over a minute to look decently bright and started off so dim it was a laugh
