ive never taken them myself but have had a lot of experience with them... some roomtes i lived with last year had some serious issues... they were a couple and seemed pretty nice and normal at first but were pretty antisocial and weird in the end...

this guy and girl both suffered from depression and some other psychological disorders (social anxiety amongst others) and they were both on a ton of meds for it. the girl was more messed up than the guy and if she didnt take her stuff she would get headaches and stomach aches. she was always really restless all day long.

the guy was completely numb. AFAIK he only took antidepressants but he was like a zombie, just walking around the house with no purpouse whatsoever.

it didnt't help that both of them smoked copious ammounts of ganja either.

they had been together like 6 years and have no plans of having kids or anything significant with their lives. the girl has a job as a part-time secretary and the guy works at a factory and they make enough money to pay off their house, eat fast food daily, rent movies and video games all the time and purchase a lot of marijuana.
so basically it was really sad that these pretty nice ppl were destined to a miserable life on their own because that is all that they did in a full year ive lived with them and that doesnt seem like it will EVER change.

went off on a tangent here but moral of the story, pills are a last resort youd be surprised how much therapy can help first... pills make you dependent on them and can have other side effects.

Don't take drugs to make yourself happy. If you have a real chemical problem, that's one thing, but if you just need to work out your problems, talk to a doctor, don't take medications to mask your feelings.

Yup. Since its supposed to fix your psychology, the only effect it can have is psychological.
If you really believe that spending a few hundred bucks on a bottle of useless white powder will make you happy, then you'll be happy.

My parents made me take prozac when I was about 10. I didnt have a psychology then, and I was too simple-minded to be brainwashed by some medical mumbo-jumbo.

I took it for 8 years and had depression up until I graduated. I got off that damn pill late in my senior year. Sure enough, on graduation day my depression disappeared.
And my parents had pissed away god knows how much money for crap.
