Do amplified tv antennas for UHF/VHF work better than the non-amplified?

I thought I had tried them once in the past and I can't recall if the signal was any better with the amplified rabbit-ears antenna.

If the signal is marginal it might make a difference. They're certainly cheap enough to try, and if not, return to walmart/target.

I had a cheaper style from wally world, and it worked better than a $120 Terk that I got from the local home theater place

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say yes. :p

But it probably really depends on the quality of the unit.
