I have been looking at the different sites for the places that have these PRO cards in stock and some say just "256 DDR" and some say "256 DDR3". Does anyone know for sure if the x800 Pro chipset only uses the DDR3 memory? or is there like a x800 PRO lite version that has just normal DDR and a more expensive brand or version that has the DDR3?

As far as I know, all X800/pro/XT's come with DDR3. The only new gen card that is available right now with DDR1 is the regular 6800. Everything else is DDR3 (6800GT,6800Ultra, X800pro/XT)

Everyone except the x800 se which Is not yet. The x800 se is the value card to compete with the 6800 Non Ultra. It will have regular DDR 1.

Yes, your right. But I meant cards available atm.

If the vendor decides to put anything less than DD3 on any of these cards then they might as well file for bankruptcy ;) I never seen a vendor downgrade from the reference model.

I think Sapphire has been guilty of this from time to time. That whole 128-bit fiasco on the 9800"pro" they were selling.
