Do all TV Tuners Work in Pairs?

I have a ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI and wouldn't mind adding a 2nd tuner so I can watch one channel and record another. I know dual tuner configs are popular but dose the tuner have anything to do with it or do all of them play well in configs?

If I can find one I'd like to add another TV Wonder 650 PCI.

AFAIK, you can add as many tuners as you have slots. Most software should handle it. I use GB-PVR (free) with a Hauppage HVR-1800 and the option is there to add more tuners.

You didn't say what application(s) are using the tuner(s).

There's a practical limit to how many tuners you can use at once. Media Center restricts you to 4 installed devices, but you can hack this to increase the limit. This limit is in there for a reason - most hardware cant handle more than 4 recordings at once. Four HD streams at once can be taxing on the system.

Sorry, its for Windows 7 x64 Media Center.

My HTPC is in a full size Lian Li ATX case so I have plenty of room. I think I'll try to track down another PCI or PCIe TV Wonder 650.
