do all nighters actually help pull a better grade on tests?

as others have said it depends on how much you are going to gain from studying. for example last time i did that i hadn't really been following along reading the textbook and my all-nighter definetly helped. not studying would have been a complete disaster. but if you already know the stuff and are staying up just to study stuff you already know you might be better off getting some rest instead.

yeah an allnighter for me has always worked, nothing makes you feel more refreshed than a night of sex until the sun comes up.

Recently (a week or two ago) there was an article on msn/msnbc about whether a good night's rest or all nighter was more important. Think the people that slept got on avg 7% better scores than those that studied all night. You might wanna do a search on msn or msnbc.

Those results may not actually infer what you think they do. Perhaps the people who slept are simply better students and that is why they got better scores. That kind of data shows nothing to prove that the lack of sleep had any corollation with the scores. A more accurate test would test the same group of people twice, once while getting proper sleep, and once while pulling an all nighter, parhaps even having the groups be half sleeping, half all nighters and the n swap the groups in the second test.
