Do all Hondas have interference engines?

Looking at a 2005 Accord or 2005 Camry.

I know the Camry has a non-interference engine and all earlier model Hondas have interference engines, but what about the new models?

EDIT: For anyone who didn't know, 2003-current Accords are interference engines, but are equipped with a timing chain, not a belt.

My guess would be probably. The K24 has a chain though so the chances for a total failure are pretty slim.

Not that it's particularly relevant to this discussion, but not all older Hondas have interference engines. I broke the timing belt on my old '84 Accord years ago with no other damage.

True, I am really leaning towards the Accord. The side airbags are standard while the Camry only offers it as an option.

I guess I'm just a bit paranoid since a broken belt can potentially cause major damage.

No, that's the KA24DE (used in later 240SX's and early Altimas).

The K24 is a Honda engine.

Why worry? The belt doesn't have to be replaced until 100k miles. If you're buying new, you may not even own the car that long.

As is the K20. K24 is also found in the Element and CR-V.

This is more or less moot because both toyo and honda 2.4s use chains.

That being said, the accord has better suspension technology than the camry.

Side airbag is a life saving feature, particularly when tboned by trucks/SUVs, there are studies on this.
