I tried a Braun 5 series (570cc) and a Norelco arcitec and hated both, took forever to shave and both were patchy and had to be ground aqainst my skin to do even a crappy job.

I have a Braun pocketgo that I paid less than $20.00 for and it does a better job than the other two that were around $150.00

I like the design of the pocketgo but would like something a bit better, like one that didnt run off AA batteries.

The first two I mentioned were bought from costco so I wasnt worried about needing to return them.

Im looking for something more like the pocketgo, and from a place that I wont have a hassle if I have to return it, any suggestions?

Electric razors will gently lift the skin off your face, shred it, and spit it out like a pasta maker. Stay far away from electrics. Everyone knows this.

i personally can't stand them

I still use double bladed disposable BIC's
For the the idea of an electric shaver was to save time, but you stand there longer making sure you didn't miss anything anyway.

for some people's beards they work great though

I've been using a Braun Series 7 for years, and it's by far the best one I've ever used. Prior to finding it, I tried numerous other electric shavers, and they were all horrible.

I have a $30 electric razor/trimmer--I trim the bottom part of my face and shave the cheeks/mustache area and I love it.

Though shaving the neck area, which I almost never do is not necessarily the most fun experience.

In my experience, yes. I've been through a number of electrics, but the best I could rate any of them was the level of 'tolerable'. I always end up with either a face feeling like sandpaper or one with a hefty razor-burn.

You need to stick with one long enough so your skin gets used to it.

If you keep switching then it won't work as well.

It's the same thing we say when people switch from razors to blades and such that they need to give it some time.

I've had better luck with the mid-ranged ones. I had a cheap Phillips rotary one that chewed up my face with some pretty bad razor burn. I use a mid-priced Remington now that does a good job. I'm probably one of the few who prefers the electrics to the blades. I have sensitive skin on my neck so I find I don't get the burn with them.

Yea I got one when I was 18. It tore up my face for the first month but I kept at it and it worked great.

I have a Norelco I've had for over a decade I started using again a few months ago. It takes longer to get those few errant hairs but it is far cheaper than buying those uber expensive multi-blade disposable cartridge razors.

I've tried them all (Brauns included), even the wet/dry ones and have always gone back to the classic safety razor.

I use this exact one. It costs like $15. Shaves fine but needs multiple passes and is compact.

Even better, people pay to have procedures like that (microdermabrasion and facials and lifts).

I've tried almost every type, they all suck...

Yep. I've been shaving for about 40 years, and have tried numerous electric shavers of many brands and models. I've never found one that shaved nearly as well as a blade...even the crappy disposables usually do a better job for my face.

I used a few models exclusively for quite some time. Some stretches went for up to a year. I do agree that sticking with it will reduce the irritation and get a bit closer as I had experienced that too, but overall I still think that blades are better in that regard.

I have an electric shaver. I have switched over to blades as i like the way my face feels after words. took some time to get used to it, but my face feels better and its less hassle than the electric.

FYI, it the blades in an electric razor to get worn out, so it helps if you replace them every so often.

I get the cheapest one that has the 3 circles. And I keep it till it dies and replace blades every 2-3 years. I don't care for a clean shave. And don't need it. At worse, I go to work with a face that looks like it would look like by noon if clean sahven. Whooopie.
