Do airlines play movies not yet released on dvd?

Basically a movie that isn't playing at the theaters anymore but still a few months away from being released on dvd.

Hey... they need to use their internet access while in flight to download movies like the rest of us so they might as well share.

Yes they do. You can also usually look up the movies they are playing on their website.

Example: I just wanted The Dark Knight, Wanted and Tropic Thunder on a Delta flight two days ago, and none of those movies have been released on DVD/Blu Ray (but they will be soon).

Yes.. watched Iron Man in August for example.

yes, usually not ones in theatres in my experience, but ones that were just recently not being shown.
