Do a hdmi to Dvi adapter work for shimian qh270?

I got a question. My secondary monitor is dead and my friend is offerign trade for his shimian qh270. My problem, I have a 1070 strix and it only have a single dvi slot and i already use it for my Quix. Will hdmi to dvi adpater work with shimian qh270?
 
It should, but why not use the DVI cable direct to the shimian qh270, and the adapter for Quix?
 
If the monitor in question is a 2560x1440, the HDMI port may not have enough bandwidth. I believe that those monitors prefer a DVI-D dual-link connection.
