Do 4870's normally smell?

I just got my 4870, and so far.... so so happy, not that much of an upgrade from 8800 gtx, but willing to see what happens. Anyways, do they all smell like that upon first use? Smells like something burning just a bit.

Heh, I'm guessing the heatsink compound might be curing a bit. (should be a decent size upgrade from 8800GTX though, depending on your res)
 
well, electronics do have a slight odor coming from them when they get hot. My Xbox 360, PS3, Surround Receiver, TV, Video Card etc all do. It's quite normal, but I recommend you don't try to grill on it to make it smell better :laugh:

yea, thats what I figured. I am running this on a Sharp Aquos 32 inch 1080p, So 1900x1080. I actually am liking this card the more I use it, Need to test it with Crysis. Thanks though for the serious replies.
