Okay well The Postal Service seems to have come into their own, and a lot of you listen to them and Death Cab for Cutie, but Dntel (Jimmy Tamborello) doesn't seem to recieve all the attention that Gibbard does. The Postal Service started as a collaboration between Gibbard and Tamborello on his album "Life is Full of Possibilities" with the song (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan. They said hey that's pretty good, and voila The Postal Service.

Everything this guy does under Dntel is great (also check out Figurine, his old project), if you liked the music of The Postal Service definitely check out his other stuff.

kind of pretentious and the casio beat box thing gets old fairly quickly, but they have some salvagable tunes.

death cab is annoying. they have one song thats repeated a dozen-odd times per album, and its not even that good.

Postal Service is also amazing. I should check out Dntels other stuff, I never have attempted to look for it.

I have always preferred dntel to The Postal Service. While I do like Ben Gibbard every now and then, Jimmy just has an amazing way with music. Umbrella is probably my favorite dntel song, with In Which Our Hero Begins His Long And Arduous Quest right behind that.

Yup, Umbrella or Last Songs is probably my favorite off of "Life is Full of Possibilities". In Which Our Hero Is Put Under A Spell and S.O.S. from "Something Always Goes Wrong", and my favorite song from him High Horses Theme from "Early Works for Me if it Works for You". Also if you haven't heard it there is a Dntel/Styrofoam split that is really good, and he does Don't Get Your Hopes Up which is definitely one of his best.
