ok here is the deal:
vista x32 laptop connected through 2wire
using the built in windows vpn client to connect (lt2p) to our server (win 2003) at work that is running the windows vpn server

his can connect to the web fine before he connects to the vpn.
he connects to the vpn fine and everything works great.
when he disconnects from the vpn, his dns goes to crap
he can ping ips, go to websites with their ip, but he cant use any hostnames
ive tried dns flush/reg. ipconfig rel/ren, changed some settings i found from some MS technet articles.

nothing seems to fix it. i tried installing openvpn and get it working but it doesn't want to connect (some driver issue i think)...

any ideas?
