DNS Error question

glen

Lifer
I don't understand this fully, but I suspect that my ISP's DNS is "flakey" for lack of a better technical word.
Lots of sights like Drudge or FiringSquad are up to folks on my AIM list, but I get the DNS error.
Is there a way to configure your browser to try a different DNS if the first one finds nothing?

Why don't you just use a different DNS server in your TCP/IP settings?

Yup. DNS servers usually don't care where requests come from, you can use a DNS server from a totally different ISP if you want.

Great.
I knew I could do somethign like that, I just have no real idea what you said.
How do I change it?
and
Can I have it try multiple ones till it finds a good link?

Start->settings->network and dial up connections->tcp/ip->properties->dns tab->advanced->and just add your dns servers in there, as many as you like and make sure they go in order that you want. If you put the most used dns at the bottom, likely your net requests will be lengthy
