dne2000 error when installing Cisco VPN client

I have various models of IBM Thinkpads in the office, and I am having problem installing Cisco VPN client (version 4.02d and 4.03) on T40s (non centrino). I would get an error message stating that dne2000.exe has generated an error. Install stops at this point.

I login as local administrator and has load device driver rights. I don't have this problem with T2X, T30, or the latest T40 centrino
