DMZ question, router suggestions

Alright...First is my question: Is it even theoretically possible to place more than one computer into a routers DMZ?
I live on a college campus, so my connection already has a strong firewall. But, I am only given one IP address, so I do have to have a router in there. I bought an el cheapo CompUSA brand router a while ago and i've grown disgusted of it's flaws (dropped connections, limited options). Can you guys suggest a good router (doesn't have to be wireless) for under a $100 that would offer the ability to open a decent amount of ports, maybe a VPN, and, for the love of god, a reliable "uptime". I am certainly not an expert on networking, but as an IT major I know that there is better stuff out there than this.

THANKS!

Thanks!

What do you guys think about the multiple DMZ issue. It would be perfect for me since I don't need the security.

SMC 7004VBR can put 10 computers on the DMZ.

However you need 10 external IPs.

Computers on the DMZ can not share the same IP.

I can imagine that if you live on campus and are using the campus network for this, all the stuff you could ever want to do with this would be blocked.

Just a thought, I could be wrong.

Yeah this is partially true. They have blocked a ton of "suspicious/problem" ports. But there still are some open ones. My biggest need is a steady internet connection, with a minimal speed loss.

I'm just warning you that you might get kicked off the network if you do something like this.

Other than that , have fun.:D

Ahhhh, that's not a problem. The school specifically states in that the use of routers is condoned. But, they don't support them.

No, I mean what are you going to put on the DMZ?

I would put my laptop (the computer i use the most) into the DMZ. While keeping the desktop, and PS2 behind the firewall. In a perfect world i would want to have them all in the DMZ but i'm only assigned one IP. This is my current set-up, which works (but not reliably).

I really appreciate all you guys helping me out, goes to prove that people are still willing to help others.

Ok, I thought you were going to run servers. I take back my statement about you getting into trouble if that is all you are going to put on there.
