DMZ not working

I have a Belkin F5D8233-4-v1 with latest firmware. I'm trying to play a few pc games that require certain ports to be open but instead of entering them all manually I used to just set my computer to DMZ using my old router which was a similar model. But with this router, DMZ has no effect at all period. Is there something special I need to do to get DMZ to work?

Using DMZ opens you up to security risks that could cause you a lot more trouble than typing in a number of ports to forward. Besides DMZ not being intended for that purpose, it doesn't even guarantee that you will be able to accomplish your hosting, matchmaking, etc. requirements. I tried using the DMZ setting on Linksys routers a few times for gaming, and one or twice for troubleshooting before I realized that it really is only for web servers.
