dmv registration when selling car

i am about to sell my car in california, but just paid for a whole year of registration about a month ago. when i sell it, am i entitled to any refund of the registration fee from the dmv? or is california just going to take my money and run?

i just went through this a couple days ago on wednesday, but it was in MD.

my registration was good until february 2013.

when i turned my tags in i didn't get jack shit back.

i was wondering this too before i turned it in but in MD they don't give you anything back.

EDIT: Nevermind, if it's less than 12 months you won't get a refund.
