Hey Guys,

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up on the D-LINK DMP-100 $30 mail-in rebate. It took almost 8 weeks but D-LINK did come through.

Final Cost : $49.99 - $30.00 = $19.99

P.S. If you were lucky enough to get in on the OM deal: Free B&W portable TV.

Awesome Deal.

Thanks Gang. :)~~~

:( I was one of those screwed by BestBuy, "we won't be getting any in stock so your raincheck is no good," then they get em in a couple weeks later:|.

Luckily I got in on the Staples free deal for this player:D

what did you guys send in for the $30 rebate? I sent in copies for both (UPC an receipt) and the BW TV one came back the other day asking for the actual of both.

I got my rebate today, so my cost was $20! Good deal.....too bad the software sucks and quits after every song you transfer (win2k s/w).

I sent OfficeMax a copy of the UPC despite people saying that D-Link would take a copy and send OfficeMax the original. I wanted to ensure the $30 and didn't care too much about the TV. Well, the TV one came back and said that I didn't include the upc. I resent it with an explaination that the actual UPC went to D-Link for a rebate and if they needed a copy of that rebate as proof, to provide me with a fax number. The TV showed up in about 2 weeks :)

I got my TV last week, too. Still waiting on rebate.

I sent Officemax a photocopy of my receipt and UPC to get the TV. No problem.

I expect the TV to work 6 months, maybe. It is cheap. Bu

I did call D-Link the other day since it's probably been 9 weeks. They had it in the system but it was "still processing" and would be another 2-3 weeks. We'll see, but at least they *did* have a record of it.

I still can't this damn MP3 player to work with any of machines: 2 PCs and 2 notebooks (Toshiba and NEC). I've tried all combinations of Windows 98, ME (w/updated Dpine drivers) and Windows 2000. I've tried both ECP/EPP modes. Once I got to it work, I reboot the machine and then the machine can't communicate with the Mp3 player....DLink/Dpine don't know how to write robust software!

Any ideas?

Got my rebate and TV too. But wanted to ask:

Anyone have problems with their DMP-100 not interfacing with their computer? I have reloaded all software and checked the cable, but I can not get the unit to be recognized... Well at least I have 4 songs loaded onto the unit from when it was working.

I too have had problems with the DMP-100 communicating with the computer (which is an Athlon system). An earlier post in this thread states that the DMP-100 fails to communicate with Athlon systems. Has this been corroborated or recognized by D-Link? Given the popularity of Athlon's now, it's hard to imagine that any manufacturer would abandon that market. Any suggestions?
