DMC was brilliant - other games?

Problem with steam, you buy a lot you don't need/like for some reason in sale.

- Dishonored - dislike
- L.A Noire - seems slow
- Haven't given Bioshock 1/2 a go yet
- Hitman Absolution that i'll try but reviews are bad

DMC (Devil May Cry) was a revelation. I like games like this from time to time, linear violent games. Loved Arkham city and asylum also.

Are there any more DMC like games? Only one I can think of is God of War series, but I prefer PC gaming if possible. Uncharted series was good also on PS3, similarly linear! I've already played Max Payne 3.

Also, what other games are people raving about lately, recent releases? I can't find much to buy over the internet searches!

Tomb raider might be a very good shout. Dark souls and castlemania (first time i've heard of these) seem a bit unpolished, not sure on the genre looking at youtube.

😱
CastleMania really isn't good. Check out CastleVania instead, it's a much better franchise.

Castlevania and Dark Souls are very polished, Dark Souls requires a mod to really play on the PC but that is it.

Castlevania Lords of Shadows is very God Of War like, totally forgot it just came out for the PC.

Though they are old now, but what about Darksiders and Darksiders 2? those games were pretty fun.

Darksiders 1 was absolutely amazing, and very playable and polished for a PC game. There wasn't much in the wa of graphical settings you could change, but at least the keyboard/mouse controls were good.

Darksiders 2 annoyed me. A lot of people think it's a better game, so take my opinion cautiously. Whereas in Darksiders 1 you play War, who is kind of a brute, and the main focus was about fighting and continuing the main quest, in Darksiders 2 you play Death, who's a bit more agile, and I felt like they went a little too far with the jumping puzzles as a whole. Even still, the games are very good, and they're definitely worth checking out.

I can't stand jumping puzzles.

I wouldn't call any of the games listed here anything like DMC (which I loved also).

Bayonetta unfortunately is only on consoles, but that is the game you want; same kind of over-the-top fighter, and I loved it.

Bioshock is one of the best games ever in my opinion. Get that going right away and you won't need to worry about other games for awhile!

Well funny you should say that. I came to say firstly, I will definitely buy Tomb Raider, as it reminds me of the Uncharted series.

Secondly, I did actually fix Bioshock's sound so started that. Wasn't sure at first, but i'm getting drawn in, really good atmosphere! You are right. I already have Bioshock 1 and 2, so some gaming time there. And Infinite is out if I get in to it. Hopefully not get bored like in Dishonored!

Bioshock 1/2, Tomb Raider after, and I may order God of War for the PS3, since there doesn't seem to be much DMC like games for the PC i'd enjoy!

I am a huge fan of the uncharted series. I have and have beaten all three. The series is based on tomb raider. This tomb raider is a better game in the short amount of time I've put into it. By the time you hit the title banner of the game you will already have been set on fire, broken ribs and had a bone stab through your side. This happens before you get your first weapon.

Isn't this game just like the other DMC games? I would say if you want more like it, your best bet would be to look to console games. There are tons of those type of games on them.

If you're going to be playing on console, GoW is very similar to DMC. If you can, play Devil May Cry 3 (it was the best in the series). Also, Heavenly Sword is a platformer like that. Darksiders might also be a bit similar, however, I wasn't a huge fan of Darksiders and I thought 2 was pretty bland and awful (which I just played like 2 or 3 weeks ago for the first time). Bayonetta was really good (and since it is Capcom, it is almost identical to DMC but with tons of fan service).

*edit: actually Bayonetta was made by Sega, not Capcom.

Am through the first 12 missions of DMC and I'm having a hard time putting it down at night. The game absolutely rocks.

What about the new (for PC anyway) Castlevania game? I've heard some good things and it is in that God of War style.

It's a really fun game. I am about a third of the way through and it has not gotten old just yet. The style is really pretty when you turn the graphics settings up as well. However, after awhile the rain gets super annoying, and it seems to rain nonstop.
