I have just gotten ahold of some of the most amazing live Dave Matthews ever. Heard "Live in Chicago"?

This sh!t is absolutely ill. It's crazy. It's freaking amazing. I'm sure you've all heard it, but for some reason I missed it. Thank god I found it.

I have that CD, I kinda like "Live at Red Rocks" better. That CD is amazing, but "Live in Chicago" definitely isn't bad.

I heard that Dave is releasing a solo CD in September...read an article on Reuters about it.

**EDIT**

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=3087654

In other news, John Mayer announces that he is going to tour as part of a 5-piece ensemble called JMB.

Don't you have something better to do?
Don't you think I'd be doing it?
Besides, what's better than taking pot shots at Dave Matthews???

people who despise dave matthews may not like his lyrics, or his "followers" but i'll put it plainly.

you are a true idiot if you cant admit that his band has extremely talented musicians, and he has an incredible knack for writing lyrics.

This goes for just about every band that has made it big.

They are musicians and have lyrics. Maybe you don't understand/like the lyrics, but they fit your description.

All I have to say is listen to something like "Dreaming Tree" or "Sleep to Dream Her" or "41" or "Cry Freedom" or "Bartender" and you'll so why DMB is so f&*king awesome

Perhaps in your eyes(ears?), but in many people eyes, the endless noodling of "jam bands" is hardly musical.

Anyway, I didn't mean to turn this thread into another "what is music" or "how do you define talent" thread, I was just giving some lighthearted ribbing.

I beg to differ - Tool, for example.

no. just constantly strumming a guitar and turning up the amp really loud and make cool synth noises is not music in the same realm of dave matthews.

listen to NFS4.

Perhaps not to you, but to others it is.
