by default win2000 does not enable DMA but you can just enable it in device manager. worked for me and everyone else i've heard of.

As far as I know w2k doesn't support ATA100 out of the box. I think it just runs in PIO mode. This problem is fixed in SP2. Not too sure on the ATA66 situation tho. I would believe ATA66 would work.

According to Microsoft's knowledgebase, you have to enable it manually using the registry fix.
