DMA won't enable for my Toshiba DVD 16x drive under win2k

I have a FIC AD11 mobo and I would enable DMA through powerDVD, and after I restart the computer, it is unchecked again. Help?

edit - It used to until I installed the via drivers actually

This is probably because you need to modify the settings in the BIOS to enable DMA for the drive. I had this problem on all my drives on an Intel D850GB & it wouldn't autodetect the DMA mode for anything but the hard drives. I don't know what DMA settings I should have chosen for each optical drive, but I just picked one & DMA will now enable (Anyone know how to tell which to pick? Manuals typically don't say...).

My roomate had that same problem, he had to download better drivers for the controllers on the Motherboard so that the option stayed. Try that?
