my DMA worked flawless, then didn't...only on my secondary IDE...
anyway, i couldn't figure it out until i downloaded VIA's beta 3.01 ide bus master driver set and changed the UDMA setting to mode 0 instead of 2...now, my drive gets its performance back w/out write/read errors...
moral of story: if u're scratching your head over f*cked up DMA problems/performance w/ a via southbridge, i highly suggest downloading these drivers and trying out different dma modes. make sure u instlal the miniport mind u...i'm not sure if it works w/ the vxd set...
