DMA mode setting in BIOS

My BIOS gives me choices for DMA settings for HD, CDROMS etc....mode 0 mode 1 mod 2, mode 3, etc...Which mode do I select?

I have a Cendyne 32x (lite-on) burner, an Afreey 50x cdrom drive, and a quantum fireball 40 gig HD.

Choose "Auto" and let BIOS automagic do its work.

Man, this is really bugging me. I set the Quantum Fireball HD, the Afree CDROM, and the Cendyne 32x12x40x burner to auto, and dma box still doesn't appear in Windows ME device manager. So I went back into bios, set them to USER, then DMA mode 2 for each(I was told the cendyne can use mode 2) and then was able to reset to AUTO but still keep the DMA settings as mode 2, but still doesn't appear in windows ......
